INFORMAL INTERVIEW

Definition of health

Formulate several questions regarding the definition of health to ask in an interview.  Consider the reading in your text and the class discussion.

 You are to interview two people at separate times.  Try to interview people who you think may have very different definitions of health (young/old) (male/female) (athlete/non-athlete).

 Inform the person that:

• You are a nursing student completing an assignment.
• The interview will take 5 - 10 minutes.
• You may share the information they give you with your instructor and classmates, but you WILL NOT use their name.

 Write a few notes during or immediately after the interview so you remember details.  Bring your interview questions and notes to class; be prepared to briefly present the results of your interview.

 Reflect on:

1. What you did well.
2. What you could improve on.
3. How you felt before, during and after the interview.
