AAMN Foundation Scholarship

AAMN Foundation and Johnson & Johnson's Campaign for Nursing’s Future have partnered to offer this new $1,000 scholarship program for male students pursuing professional nursing education programs.

Established in 2004, these scholarships are intended to supports male students who are seeking a pre-RN licensure or graduate degree in nursing.

Wisconsin League For Nursing, Inc.

The Wisconsin League for Nursing (WLN) has scholarship funds available for Wisconsin residents currently enrolled in a nursing program. To qualify for the scholarship, the applicant must be attending a school of nursing located in Wisconsin. The school must be either an Institutional Member of the National League for Nursing (NLN) or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The applicant must have completed 50% of the credits required to graduate from the program.  Deadline is March 15, of each year

Virginia "EBA" Root Nursing Scholarship

The Wisconsin Paralyzed Veterans of America (WPVA) is pleased to announce the annual Virginia "Bea" Root Nursing Scholarship Award. This $1,000 scholarship will be offered to senior nursing students enrolled in an accredited nursing program. All applications should be sent to the WPVA office and postmarked by March 15, of each year.

Kathy Welter Memorial Scholarship Application

The Wisconsin Paralyzed Veterans of America (WPVA) is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for the annual Kathy Welter Memorial Scholarship Award. Two $1,500 scholarships will be offered to nursing students enrolled in an accredited nursing program based in Wisconsin. All applications should be sent to the WPVA office and postmarked by March 15, of each year.

Grant Regional Health Center Foundation
Lancaster, Wisconsin

Grant Regional Health Center Foundation, Lancaster, Wisconsin, will award two $1,000 nursing scholarships to successful applicants in 2005. Those eligible to apply include individuals beginning or continuing their enrollment in a registered nursing degree program at most fully accredited two or four-year colleges between late May and Fall of 2005. They must be permanent residents of one of the following Grant County, Wisconsin, school districts currently and during all of calendar year 2004: Cassville, Fennimore, Iowa-Grant, Lancaster, Potosi, or River Ridge.

Grant Regional Health Center Auxiliary
Lancaster, Wisconsin

Grant Regional Health Center Auxiliary Scholarship offers a person, who meets the considerations herein set forth, assistance in becoming a health care professional. The scholarships are offered in the following categories:

  • Four-year B.S. Degree Program
  • Two-year Associate Degree Program and
  • One-year Other Health Related Program

The Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association, Inc.

All students applying for a scholarship from the FNSNA must meet all of the following criteria for consideration:

  • Currently enrolled and matriculated in a state-approved school of nursing or pre-nursing program leading to an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic doctorate or generic master’s degree. High school students are not eligible to apply. Pre-nursing students are students who are currently enrolled in college or university programs designed as preparation for entrance into a program leading to an associate’s degree, diploma or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • Currently pursuing their first degree in nursing.
  • Currently attending classes on a part time basis (at least six (6) credits).
  • Demonstrate involvement in student nursing organizations and community health activities.
  • Demonstrate financial need.

CampusRN/AACN Nursing Scholarship Fund

CampusRN, the leading employment website for nursing/allied health care students and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) have partnered to offer this new scholarship program for students pursuing professional nursing education programs.

Established in April 2003, this scholarship program supports students who are seeking a baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree in nursing. Special consideration will be given to students:

  • Enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program with the goal of pursuing a nursing faculty career;
  • Completing an RN to baccalaureate program (BSN); or
  • Enrolled in an accelerated baccalaureate or master’s degree nursing program.

Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation

(Applications Due: April 25th)

The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, Inc. offers 1 scholarship of $500 each for Edgewood Nursing majors. The scholarships are awarded to men and women from Wisconsin farm families who are entering or continuing to study in Nursing or Medical Technology at Edgewood College. The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation provides the grant funds to assist in improving the quality of life in the State of Wisconsin by providing broader educational opportunities for farm family youth.

Criteria:

  • Be a son or daughter of a farm family or from a rural community.
  • Be a Nursing or Medical Technology major at Edgewood.
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Show financial need as calculated by the Edgewood College Financial Aid Office.

To apply, submit a typewritten essay explaining why you merit the award. Include in the essay information about the size, location, and products of the family farm, as well as information about your educational and career goals. Scholarship application is available in the “Scholarships” holder in the bookcase in the nursing office.


 St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association

(Applications Due: May 5th)

St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association offers 2 scholarships of $1000 each for Edgewood Nursing majors. The scholarships are awarded to students who meet the following criteria:

Criteria:

  • Be a graduate of St. Mary’s Nursing School, or
  • A relative of a St. Mary’s Nursing School Alumna, or
  • An employee of St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center or St. Mary’s Care Center who is working at least 8 hours per week.
  • Students must be entering their 3rd or 4th year of study leading to a BS degree or
  • Be enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing program.
  • Be in good academic standing.
  • Show financial need as calculated by the Edgewood College Financial Aid Office

To apply, submit a typewritten essay explaining why you merit the award. Include information about your connection with St. Mary’s School of Nursing or St. Mary’s Hospital or Care Center.


 SSM Health Care of Wisconsin

(APPLICATIONS DUE: April 25th)

SSM is the umbrella corporation for St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center and St. Claire Hospital in Baraboo. They offer $2500 scholarships for one Edgewood nursing student who are required to work at either St. Mary’s Hospital or St. Claire Hospital in Baraboo.

Criteria:

  • Entering their 3rd or 4th year of study leading to a BA or BS degree in nursing
  • Show financial need as calculated by the Edgewood College Financial Aid Office.
  • Agree to work in a nursing associated position, while completing your studies, for approximately 8 hours/week at either St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison or St. Claire Hospital in Baraboo.

To apply, submit a typewritten essay explaining why you merit the award. Include information about your willingness to work at one of the hospitals listed above.


Other Scholarship Opportunities for nursing students are administered solely on financial need and academic achievement. Because there are no other criteria upon which to base a decision, the nursing faculty will select students for the following scholarships:

  • The Bruning Scholarship for post-baccalaureate students pursuing an undergraduate degree.

The Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association, Inc. (FNSNA)

(APPLICATIONS DUE: Friday, January 11, 2008)

If your nursing students are looking for additional financial assistance to support their education then they need look no further than to FNSNA. Undergraduate students who are pursuing their first degree in nursing may easily obtain information or download an application by visiting www.nsna.org  Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000.

The Boehnlein Nursing Scholarship

(APPLICATIONS DUE: Friday, February 29, 2008)

Four $1000 scholarships will be awarded to area students who are pursuing Nursing Degrees. These scholarships are available through the generosity of the Harvey Boehnlein Endowment Fund managed by the Theda Clark Medical Center Foundation.

Criteria:

  • You must be either an incoming freshman registering as full-time and taking credits applicable to the nursing degree

           OR

  • A college student who is continuing his/her education toward either a bachelor's degree in nursing or an advanced degree from a recognized and fully accredited professional nursing program in the fall of 2007

Applicants must be a resident of Winnebago, Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, Green Lake or Fond du Lac counties.

Applications are available from the Financial Aid Office or the School of Nursing.

The Louise Held Nursing Award

(Deadline is March 31, 2008)

Available to citizens of the United States who have graduated or will graduate with a B.Sc. Degree (or better) in Nursing in the 18 months prior to September 30 2008.

St. Mary's Hospital Minority Health Care Scholarship Program

(Application deadline is March 1 of each year)

St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the hospital's Minority Health Care Scholarship Program. 

Scholarships will be awarded to two minority students who meet the eligibility requirements.  The program provides tuition scholarships up to $2,500 annually for minority students enrolled full time in a baccalaureate or associate degree program at Edgewood College, MATC or UW-Madison.

Marshfield Clinic Baccalaureate Nursing Scholarship Program

(Applications must be received in applicants office no later than March 24, 2008)

Marshfield Clinic is funding a scholarship program that will benefit multiple junior and senior BSN nursing students with awards totaling $3,000.

Eligibility Requirements:
Must be accepted as a full-time student at a Wisconsin BSN Nursing Program and have at least junior standing as of Fall 2008

Must demonstrate scholarship by having and maintaining a "B" average (3.0 on 4.0 grade point average system) or better during all post high school courses. A junior student receiving this scholarship must maintain a "B" average to reapply.

Milwaukee Chapter National Black Nurses Association 2008 Nursing Scholarship

The Nursing Scholarship Fund was created by the Milwaukee Chapter National Black Nurses Association to encourage, promote, and support Black individuals to pursue a nursing career.
